Working regime for work with computer
Appropriate computer placement, and sitting position is very important. We
cannot forget the importance of a working regime. In case of long, constant
work with computers it is recommended to schedule short breaks after each 2 hours. During
breaks special exercise for relaxation can be used or a different kind of work
can be completed. Exercise should be for a minimum of 5 minutes. Other things that can help include
a short walk or jog.
Stretching of hands and legs can also help any time during work with computer.
Long time occupation with computers is not convenient for photosensitive
epileptics, as cursor blinking or window scrolling can invoke a fit.
Damaging effects on pregnant woman has not be proven, but it is known that electromagnetic
radiation from computer components doesn't damage health.
Children younger then 6 years shouldn't spend a long time with
computers. Parents should of course control what type of applications children use.
It is very important to keep your own typing rhythm. Trying to increase your typing
speed can create more errors, physical problems, stress or mental
troubles. Psychological improvement can be easily achieved by different settings
of keyboard response. Users can change repeat delay, repeat rate and cursor
blink rate.
The type of keyboard and type of mouse can also change your working conditions.
There are keyboards with very sensitive keystrokes and ergonomic layouts. For
wrist support, gel pad mats can be used.
It has been reported that computers doesn't actually aggravate eyes. However eyes are generally more tired after long exposure to computers, as is similar for other such activities (like
reading).
